The Hotel Room Workout

A mini workout is always better than nothing!!

This section was born our of the frustrating scenario of not having space in the carry on for sneakers, bras, leggings, headphones and AAAALLL the stuff you need to workout in public. So I have been reduced to packing a sports bra or two, and exercising in my underwear on a towel laid out on the hotel room floor. Sigh.......

Yes, its weird. It makes me think of that scene in American Psycho where Christian Bale exercises in his underwear. BUT, when you think you are out of options, get creative! 

Below are some ACTUAL fitness professionals whose workouts I follow and can be done without props. Sometimes I will throw a resistance band in my bag. Need weights? Use your purse or a side table! 

  1. Tracey Winn-Paradise Fit Life. One of my very best friends, and my first source of inspiration. She and her boyfriend, Spencer, post workouts on their Instagram that can be done sans-gym, or with minimal equipment. Love them! 
  2. Kayla Itsines. She is an adorable Australian fitness badass. When I accidentally gained 15 pounds 2 years ago, I used her app "Sweat with Kayla" to get back in shape. Holy smokes they are hard, and the results are undeniable. You can do the HIIT in your hotel room, and just walk in normal clothes if you can! Also, follow her Instagram page. She gives mini workout tutorials and rep set suggestions that you can do in your underwear, when in a pinch! 
  3. Alexa Jean Brown. Motivational mother of two, who makes me wonder what my excuses are. All workout are doable in your hotel room!
  4. Use an internet search to find somebody who motivates YOU! That is the real goal here.
